Description: The Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP™) are foundational documents designed to promote the science of simulation-based education, disseminate evidenced-best practices, and advance a comprehensive program of simulation-based learning. This pre-conference workshop is specifically geared towards novice attendees who will be encouraged to examine their current simulation practice, recognize gaps within their practice, and acquire approaches to apply the specific standards within their own simulation program.


Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP™) Workshop #2 – Advanced
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. MT

Description: The Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HSSOBP™) are foundational documents designed to promote the science of simulation-based education, disseminate evidenced-best practices, and advance a comprehensive program of simulation-based learning.  The goal of this workshop is to deepen advanced simulationists’ knowledge and integration of the HSSOBP™ to develop new insights and strategies in simulation education. Advanced attendees will evaluate their current simulation practices, translate knowledge and concepts into new strategies, and approaches to advance simulation-based innovations and promote change through leadership.


Simulation Hackathon: Transforming Healthcare through Innovation

Description: Are you interested in developing cutting-edge solutions that could change the future of simulation as a cornerstone for advancing education, patient safety, and clinical competencies? This interactive hackathon (an immersive time-bound event that fosters collaboration and rapid problem-solving) will help you ideate with others to create those solutions. Participants will collaborate in teams, guided by mentors, to design and present innovative solutions. The session culminates in impactful presentations, showcasing actionable ideas that highlight simulation’s essential role in transforming healthcare education.
