INACSL26 Call for Abstracts

Play an integral role in one of the top conferences for simulationists! INACSL is now accepting speaker proposals from all healthcare simulation professionals who wish to share their knowledge, expertise, and experience with peers at INACSL26, June 10-13, 2026 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Submission Deadline

The online abstract submission deadline is 11:59 PM (ET) on October 17, 2025. You may save your work and return later, but all required documentation must be submitted by the deadline. Incomplete or in-progress abstracts will not be reviewed. No works in progress will be accepted.

Submission Process

During the abstract submission process, you will make selections in the following categories:

1. Submission Type Category

Teaching and Learning Project

Showcases educational strategies, curriculum changes, or QI initiatives that improve simulation-based learning. Not formal research. View rubric

Research Project

Presents original, systematic studies using structured methodology and analysis. View rubric

"How To" Project

Step-by-step guides or practical demonstrations (e.g., grant writing, simulation design). View rubric

2. Presentation Format

Podium Presentation

45-minute session with Q&A. Formats may be individual, panel (up to 5), or how-to.

Hands-On Workshop

90-minute interactive session during the main conference.

Pre-conference Hands-On Workshop

Held on June 10. Choose 4-hour or 8-hour formats. Priority topics include AI and Competency-Based Education. 4-hour workshops may be asked to repeat in the afternoon.

Lightning Sessions

10-minute presentations grouped in themed sessions with discussion. Great for first-time presenters. Topics include:

  • Technology/Innovation
  • Feedback/Assessment
  • Getting Started in Simulation
  • Interprofessional Education
  • Research
  • Program Operations and Sustainability
  • Debriefing
  • Curriculum Design and Integration
  • Competency-Based Education

Poster Presentation

Posters (max size 8'x4') displayed June 10–12. At least one author must attend Thursday’s reception to present the work.

Rising Star Poster Presentations

For underrepresented or novice simulationists (less than 2 years experience, no prior national presentation). Includes mentorship from the IncluDE committee.

3. Submission Track

  • Simulation Operations/Technology: Technical and logistical simulation management.
  • Education: Projects focused on learning outcomes, best practices, and curricular innovation.
  • Industry: Business/organizational initiatives using simulation at scale.
  • Clinical Practice: Work from simulation centers or hospital programs.
  • Administrative Operations: Operational management, scheduling, moulage, etc.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN): Innovations and research specific to APRN simulation practice.
  • Research: Systematic studies from any discipline. IRB approval required for human subject research.

Up to six co-authors may be listed. Each must complete a conflict of interest form before submission is finalized.

Next Steps

Lead authors will be notified by the end of February 2026. At least one author must register for the conference to present. All authors will be listed in the program regardless of attendance.
